Cidofovir is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the eye, particularly in people with weakened immune systems such as those with HIV/AIDS. It works by stopping the virus from multiplying.[2] Vistide is currently approved and in use across 15 indications[4].[1]
