Eltrombopag is used to treat low platelet counts (the cells in blood that help with clotting) in patients with certain blood disorders like immune thrombocytopenia, so they're less likely to bleed.[1] Promacta is currently being investigated across 34 indications[3], with its most advanced program in Phase 3.[1]
