Octreotide is used to control symptoms of certain hormone-producing tumors and to reduce fluid loss in patients with severe diarrhea. It works by mimicking a natural body hormone that slows down the release of other hormones and reduces intestinal movement.[1] Sandostatin is currently being investigated across 21 indications[3], with its most advanced program in Phase 3.[1]
