Sulfasalazine is an anti-inflammatory medication used to treat ulcerative colitis by reducing swelling and sores in the colon and rectum. It's also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and childhood arthritis in patients who haven't responded to other treatments, working by decreasing inflammation in the body.[2] Azulfidine is currently approved and in use across 27 indications[4].[1]
