Aflibercept is used to treat eye diseases caused by abnormal blood vessel growth, such as wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion. It works by blocking signals that cause these harmful blood vessels to form and leak fluid into the eye.[2] Eylea is currently approved and in use across 70 indications[4].[1]
