Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial rinse or wash used to kill bacteria and prevent infections in the mouth, on the skin, or in wounds. It's commonly used before surgery to clean the skin, or as a mouthwash to treat gum disease and reduce plaque buildup.[2] Peridex is currently approved and in use across 31 indications[4].[1]
