Canakinumab is used to treat certain inflammatory conditions, including gout attacks and rare autoinflammatory diseases where the body's immune system causes excessive inflammation. It works by blocking a protein in the body that triggers inflammation.[1] Ilaris is currently being investigated across 60 indications[3], with its most advanced program in Phase 3.[1]
