Magnesium sulfate is used to treat severe high blood pressure during pregnancy, prevent seizures in pregnant women with preeclampsia, and as a laxative to relieve constipation. It's also given intravenously in hospitals to treat irregular heartbeats and reduce inflammation in asthma attacks.[2] Epsom salt is currently approved and in use across 100 indications[4].[1]
